Terms of Service
1. What U-Wash is
U-Wash GH is an online marketplace that connects people who need laundry done (“customers”) with independent home washers, community washers and laundry businesses (“providers”) nearby.
U-Wash does not wash clothes itself. Each order is an agreement between the customer and the provider; U-Wash provides the platform, the order record and help when something goes wrong.
2. Accounts
You must give accurate details and keep your login private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
Providers must be at least 18 years old. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.
3. Providers
Providers are independent — not employees or agents of U-Wash. They set their own prices, hours and service area, and are responsible for handling customers' items with care and following the care notes they accept.
Our team reviews providers; those who pass identity, location and facility checks get the Verified badge. Verification lowers risk but doesn't remove it — chat first and only hand over laundry when you're comfortable.
4. Orders and prices
A request becomes an order when the provider accepts it with a price. Providers have 3 hours to accept or decline; requests that aren't answered expire.
The price confirmed on acceptance is the price you pay. A provider may update it only before washing starts (for example, if the load is bigger than requested); you're notified and can cancel or report a problem if you don't agree.
At pickup the provider records how many items they collected. At delivery the provider must enter the customer's private 4-digit handover code — this is the record that the laundry was handed back.
5. Payment
During early access, customers pay providers directly (cash or mobile money) when their laundry is returned. U-Wash does not collect or hold payments and charges no fees yet.
Both sides confirm payment on the order. For mobile money, use the order reference (e.g. #K7Q2XA) so there's a record. When in-app payments launch, these terms will be updated.
6. Cancellations
Customers can cancel before pickup. Providers can cancel an accepted order before pickup (for example, if the customer isn't available). Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may lead to removal.
7. Problems, lost or damaged items
If something goes wrong — missing or damaged items, a no-show, a price or payment dispute — use “Report a problem” on the order. Please report within 48 hours of delivery; after that, delivered orders are confirmed automatically unless a problem is open.
When a problem is reported, both sides are notified and our team reviews the order record (pickup count, handover code, payment confirmations and chat) and contacts you both, usually within 24 hours. We'll help you reach a fair outcome, such as a re-wash, return of items or a refund from the provider.
Providers are responsible for items in their care. Where a provider is found at fault, they're expected to make it right; providers who don't, or who break these terms, lose their listing. U-Wash doesn't currently insure items or pay compensation itself.
8. Acceptable use
No fraud, harassment, discrimination, fake listings or reviews, or using U-Wash to arrange anything illegal. Keep agreements in U-Wash chat so there's a clear record. Don't try to break or misuse the service.
9. Liability
U-Wash is provided “as is” during early access. To the extent the law allows, U-Wash isn't liable for the acts or omissions of customers or providers, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ghanaian law that can't be limited.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service grows; we'll show the date of the latest version here. These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.
